Obituary of Bradley Joseph Garand

It is with broken hearts that we, the loving family of Bradley Joseph Garand, announce his sudden and unexpected passing on April 21, 2024 in Calgary, Alberta.  Bradley was a fun-loving, kind hearted guy who would help anyone in need.  Bradley loved cars….  he was a master with mechanics.  It if had a motor, Bradley could make it run.  He was a man who loved and protected all of his family passionately and with all his heart.  His grandchildren were so special to him, they loved him and called him “Grandad”.  He will be remembered as being an awesome father and a great brother, who was always there for his family.   A number of years ago, Bradley moved to Calgary, leaving his home in Nova Scotia, where he made a good life, filled and surrounded by new friends, later being joined by his kids.

Bradley is survived by his loving children, Justin, Codey (Jess), Corey (Becca), and Jami-Lea, Colten and Kaitlen.  Grandad will be sadly missed by his treasured grandchildren, Austin, Jaze, Lucy, Alia, Abbey, Eleanor, Westyn, Floyd and Freya.   He will forever be remembered by his father, Rene Garand, and will be greatly missed by his siblings, with whom he had a unique and special bond with each, John (Brenda), Angela (Peter), Robert (Lisa), and David (Erin).    He is survived by his former spouse, Julie, a former partner, Patricia, as well as many, too many to mention, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, along with numerous life-long friends, both in Alberta and Halifax.

He was predeceased by his mother, Ruby (Morash) in 2018.

Cremation has taken place in Alberta, where a celebration of Bradley’s life will be held on May 19, 2024 at 12 PM at Penbrooke Meadows Community Hall. 6100 Penbrooke Drive SE, Calgary, Alberta.  For those who are not able to attend the service in Alberta, a service will also be held in Halifax at a time to be announced.  The service in Halifax will be live streamed for those from Alberta who would like to join.  Information will be updated.  For those who would like to make a donation in memory of Bradley, please do so to a charity that would benefit a child.
